How It Works

  1. Configure Salesforce for API access. Create an External Client App in Salesforce with OAuth to generate your Consumer Key and Secret. Ensure the Salesforce user has API access and permissions to manage applications and data synchronization.
  2. Connect Salesforce to Swapcard. In Swapcard Studio → Integrations → API connectors, select ‘’Salesforce’’ and enter your credentials (email, Consumer Key, Consumer Secret, and hostname).
  3. Map your fields. Define how Salesforce objects (Contacts, Leads, Accounts) align with Swapcard People and Exhibitor records, including a unique identifier (Client ID or email).
  4. Run your sync. Enable the integration to start the process, and it will sync automatically on a regular basis.

Salesforce is the world’s leading CRM for managing contacts, accounts, and sales pipelines. Swapcard manages event registration, networking & matchmaking, event monetization, sponsorship activation, hosted buyer & smart meetings, and more. The integration imports Salesforce CRM records, including contacts, leads, and accounts, into Swapcard. It replaces manual CSV uploads with secure, API-based synchronization and supports configurable field mapping and incremental updates managed in Swapcard Studio.

Is the Salesforce integration native to Swapcard?

Yes. The Salesforce integration is fully native to Swapcard. No third-party connectors are needed. The integration supports importing Salesforce data into Swapcard.

Do I need a Salesforce account to use this integration?

Icon (Stroke)Icon (Stroke)

Yes. You need a Salesforce account with API access and the required permissions to configure integrations. You must also create a Connected App with a Consumer Key, Consumer Secret, and Hostname to authenticate with Swapcard.

Once the initial data is imported, how does the integration ensure our records stay up to date?

Icon (Stroke)Icon (Stroke)

The integration is designed to be "set it and forget it." Once configured, data updates automatically via the API, keeping your records in sync without manual intervention. While the system allows for manual Full or Incremental syncs, these are considered troubleshooting or "special case" tools; under normal operations, the automated background sync ensures your data remains current.

Can exhibitors use this integration to sync their own lead data to a CRM?

Icon (Stroke)Icon (Stroke)

No, this specific integration is for event-level data managed by organizers. If exhibitors wish to sync their leads to a CRM, they must use the Swapcard Leads API or Zapier. However, availability is not universal; organizers must have these features enabled in their specific package, and exhibitors may need to request access or specific permissions to utilize these tools.
