How It Works
- Connect iMIS to Swapcard. In Swapcard Studio, navigate to Event Builder → Integrations, select ‘’iMIS’’. Provide your iMIS credentials (username, password, host URL) and the Instant Query name configured by your iMIS administrator. Swapcard validates the connection instantly.
- Map your fields. Choose which iMIS Instant Query fields columns map to Swapcard fields. Any additional columns in your iMIS query automatically become available for mapping.
- Enable OpenWater enrichment (optional). Add OpenWater credentials to automatically pull speaker bios, photos, credentials, and session assignments into attendee profiles.
- Run your sync. Trigger the sync, and your iMIS registrants will populate Swapcard with fully enriched attendee profiles. Re-run at any time to pull updated registration data from your AMS.

Optionally, it enriches iMIS records with OpenWater profile data (biography, credentials, speaker info) matched by member ID.
Do I need technical expertise to set up the iMIS integration?
No. You will need your iMIS credentials and the Instant Query name provided by your iMIS administrator. Swapcard's interface guides you through iMIS authentication, field mapping, and activation—no coding or IT support needed.
How often does the iMIS integration sync data?
The integration uses full-refresh sync, meaning that every sync fetches a complete, up-to-date registrant list from iMIS. You control when syncs run, so your Swapcard attendee list always reflects the latest data from your AMS. Note that deletions are not captured automatically — if a registrant is removed from iMIS, you'll need to manually delete the corresponding record in Swapcard to keep both systems aligned.
Can I map iMIS fields to custom fields in Swapcard?
Yes. You have complete flexibility to map any iMIS Instant Query field to Swapcard's standard fields or your own custom fields, giving you full control over how member data populates your event.
